WEBSITE HISTORY AND SOURCE INFO:
The following concept and source information is intended for student researchers and class projects (these represent
the most frequent
informational inquires we receive).
AlcatrazHistory.com was created with two primary objectives:
- To make available a modest archive of historical information for researchers and students at no cost, and without pressure
or oppressive
advertising. The website was designed so that any student or researcher may derive adequate material
for a research project or report, from a single electronic
archive.
- To make available for purchase a quality and comprehensive historical reference (on Alcatraz Island), for researchers,
students, and general
readers interested in thorough biographies on both Alcatraz, and the people associated.
Original Launch Date: March 12, 2000 (with continual modifications into 2008).
